National Games in Singapore from 8th to 11th June
Updated: May 30, 2020
The Singapore national football team will play two international friendlies against Solomon
Islands on June 8 and Myanmar on June 11 at the National Stadium after a seven months gap.
Additionally it will be their first game with the new head coach, Tatsuma Yoshida.
1 Play Sports, will be the official broadcaster of the matches in Singapore with live streaming
available at 1 Play Sports Facebook page. Mohit Lalvani, CEO 1 Play Sports said "I am
extremely excited with this opportunity to stream the National Games, which promotes the local Singaporean talent. This is aligned with our motto of bringing communities together and creating heroes. 1 Play Sports focuses on providing an easily accessible platform and engaging content for all to enjoy. Finally, we look forward to delivering these matches of the highest quality".
This is an ideal preparation for Singapore’s 2022 World Cup Qualifiers later this year. The team will be able to get real match practice, adapt to new ideas and build momentum from their positive performance in the AIRMARINE Cup. Our fans are encouraged to support the lions and create a festive atmosphere.
Singapore are ranked 160th and have a realistic chance of positive results, as Solomon Islands (139th) and Myanmar (140th) are decently competitive opponents. A win or a draw would add FIFA ranking points as the lions aim to squeeze into the top 32 Asian teams - they are currently 33rd - and move up from the fifth pot into the fourth pot, for a potentially more favourable World Cup qualifiers draw in July.
Catch the surround content leading up to the live matches at 1 Play Sports Facebook page and YouTube channel. Also, stay tuned for our match preview show, halftime show and post match wrap up.
